Exploratory Writing 6B

When it comes to understanding how the internet works,

I find it slightly challenging to catch up to the ever changing technologies that come with it.

NFTs are a relatively new medium for creativity with potential to make a lot of money.

I am still wrapping my mind around the idea that anything that can be digitized can in turn become an NFT.

NFTs are not necessarily an art form, but instead digital artifacts that are connected to the real world.

A quote by Chris Nunes stood out to me the most. It helped inspire what I wanted my Cryptopunk to look like in the long run.

“With the digital elements of the art itself he's playing with the collectibility

he's playing with the interactivity of the medium and that's kind of an important movement in this

whole space is it's no longer just about a jpg or gif it's also often about

how do you interact with the Community, how do you play with the digital media.”

I was aware of the environmental impact caused by NFTs before watching the lecture,

but I never took into consideration the large amount of energy used to run computer farms.

I am interested in learning more about ways NFTs can become

minted through being more environmentally friendly in the long run.

CryptoPunks are a funny collection of 8-bit pixel art images

of people that identify as ‘punks’ It is important to remember that these are not cyberpunks.

The punks are all unique, with various features that show up on different punks.

Some have pipes or colorful hair, these characteristics determine their rarity.

Some are considered more rare than others, however only one individual may own each unique punk.
